Washington Driving Knowledge Exam

This Roadwise course uses a 40-question practice test with 32 correct answers needed to pass. The format can depend on your age, license class, or application type.

The handbook (Washington State Driver Guide) documents the Driving Knowledge Exam's existence and its 2-year score validity but never states question count or passing score. Two independent third-party DMV test-prep sites agree the official written test has 40 multiple-choice questions with an 80% (32-correct) passing score and no separately scored sections.
