Utah Written Knowledge Test

To pass this Roadwise simulation, answer at least 40 of 50 questions correctly. Answers and explanations appear after you finish. Unanswered questions count as incorrect.

This practice format uses one overall passing threshold, without a separately scored sign section.

This Roadwise practice format has no countdown, so you can take the time you need.

The handbook (p.32) states the pass score is 80% but does not give a question count. The official DLD site states the written test is a closed-book 50-question test for applicants never licensed before, or an open-book 25-question test for previously licensed applicants; this exam uses the standard 50-question/40-correct format. The test is untimed (30-45 min typical) and allows 3 attempts per fee within 12 months. First-time applicants also face a separate, 100%-required Traffic Safety and Trends exam (handbook p.32) not reflected in this question count. Utah does not score sections separately, so the practice test uses one combined score.
