Warning signs
A 2-minute lesson from the Maine course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
Warning signs tell you about hazards before you reach them: curves, merges, crossings and changes in the road. When you see one, slow down and get ready to react.
Know the rule
Warning signs warn of danger ahead. They are usually diamond shaped and usually yellow with black lettering or symbols.

Put it into practice
A yellow diamond shows a red octagon with an arrow. You can't see the intersection yet, but there's a stop sign around the bend: ease off the gas now so you can stop smoothly.
