A 2-minute lesson from the Maryland course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
Some vehicles move in ways ordinary traffic doesn't: a funeral procession that stays together through red lights, or a tractor creeping along at 25 mph. Know who yields and how to warn drivers behind you.
Know the rule
In a funeral procession, turn on your headlights and flashing hazard lights so others give you the right-of-way.
Other drivers, even with a green signal, must yield to a funeral procession until all its vehicles have passed, unless they can safely proceed without crossing the procession's path.
Your light turns green, but a line of cars with headlights and hazards on is crossing in front of you. Wait until the whole procession has passed; don't cut through it.
Check your understanding
Read the question, decide on an answer, then open it to check the explanation. These are Roadwise study questions based on the source handbook.
