When you meet all the requirements, the MVA switches your Provisional License to a Driver's License automatically. It mails you a card showing the switch, and you must carry it with your Provisional License.
A minor's application must be co-signed by a parent or legal guardian, with proof such as an original or certified birth certificate showing the parent's name, or court documents showing guardianship.
With no parent, guardian or spouse, a responsible adult (an employer, for example) may co-sign if you are under 18. You'll need proof such as your parents' death certificates or proof of emancipation.
A co-signer may cancel a minor's license by sending a written request to the MVA's Administrative Adjudication Division. It stays cancelled until you turn 18, unless a qualified co-signer signs a new application.
Your father co-signed your application and now asks the MVA in writing to cancel your license. It remains cancelled until you're 18, unless another qualified co-signer, such as your mother, co-signs a new application for you.
