Illinois Written Driver's License Exam
To pass this Roadwise simulation, answer at least 28 of 35 questions correctly. Answers and explanations appear after you finish. Unanswered questions count as incorrect.
This practice format uses one overall passing threshold, without a separately scored sign section.
This Roadwise practice format has no countdown, so you can take the time you need.
Section-level the minimum correct-answer count (16/20 for traffic laws, 12/15 for signs) is inferred by applying the overall 80% pass threshold to each section, since no source states separate per-section passing scores; treat the section breakdown as approximate. The handbook itself (p.16) states you get three attempts per exam within one year of paying the application fee, and that every driver must retake the written exam every eight years unless conviction-free. Section composition (15 sign questions) is used to build the practice test; only the overall 80% threshold is scored, since no official source gives separate section pass marks.
