Florida driving lesson · Signs and Pavement Markings
Warning signs: road surface, bridges and hills
A 2-minute lesson from the Florida course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
These signs warn about the road itself: a low overpass, a road surface that changes, soft or slick pavement, dips, tight bridges and steep hills. Each has a specific action to take.
Know the rule
Low Clearance: don't enter if your vehicle is taller than the height on the sign.
Heavy rain has left water pooled ahead where a Dip sign is posted. Slow down and be ready to stop and turn around rather than drive into water of unknown depth.
Check your understanding
Read the question, decide on an answer, then open it to check the explanation. These are Roadwise study questions based on the source handbook.
