North Dakota driving lesson · Alcohol, Drugs & DUI
Open containers, underage drinking & drugs
A 2-minute lesson from the North Dakota course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
The rules go beyond blood alcohol. No one in a vehicle may drink, open containers belong in the trunk, anyone under 21 can't have alcohol at all, and drugs, even some cold medicines, can impair you like alcohol does.
Know the rule
It's illegal for anyone, driver or passenger, to drink alcoholic beverages in or on a motor vehicle.
Your passenger wants to finish an opened bottle of wine on the drive home. No one may drink in the vehicle, and the opened bottle can't ride in the passenger area. Put it in the trunk.
Check your understanding
Read the question, decide on an answer, then open it to check the explanation. These are Roadwise study questions based on the source handbook.
