Joshua's Law requires teens who get a Class D at 16 or 17 to finish approved driver education plus supervised practice. There's classroom (or online) learning, behind-the-wheel training, and 40 hours of practice driving, including some at night.
An approved driver education course is:
30 hours of classroom instruction OR an equivalent online virtual course, AND
6 hours on the road with a certified instructor OR the DDS-approved Parent/Teen Driving Guide
Alex finished a 30-hour online course and 6 hours with a certified instructor, and logged 40 hours with a parent, 6 at night. Alex meets Joshua's Law and brings the instructor's completion document to the road test.
