A 3-minute lesson from the Wyoming course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
Wyoming lets some 14- and 15-year-olds drive when their household faces an extreme inconvenience, such as living far from school or work. The license has strict time and distance limits, and one ticket can cost it.
Know the rule
A restricted license may be issued to applicants aged 14–15 when an extreme inconvenience exists in their household.
A moving violation while holding a class RC/RM license brings a 90-day suspension for a first offense and a one-year suspension for a second or later offense.
A 15-year-old who lives 12 miles from school has a restricted license. Driving home at 8:30 p.m. after practice is outside the 5 a.m.–8 p.m. limit and can get the license suspended.
