West Virginia driving lesson · Driving on Interstates
U-turns and construction zones
A 2-minute lesson from the West Virginia course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
Missing an exit is annoying, but turning around on the interstate is never the answer. And in work zones, lanes shift and workers are feet away, so special limits and flaggers take charge.
Know the rule
Never make a U-turn on an interstate. Go to the next exit and turn around there.
You see a sign reading RIGHT LANE CLOSED 1000 FT. Signal and move left as soon as it's safe, rather than racing to the taper. Then follow the flagger's paddle and the posted work zone speed.
Check your understanding
Read the question, decide on an answer, then open it to check the explanation. These are Roadwise study questions based on the source handbook.
