When your license is issued you can choose to be an organ donor or add a veteran logo. Once you have the card, the law expects you to carry it and show it in certain situations. Fees are paid only after you pass your tests.

Know the rule

To become an organ/tissue donor, check the YES box on the signature pad; check NO if you don't want to join the donor registry.

Handbook p. 10 ↗

Know the rule

Checking YES prints a red heart on your license or ID card. It is a legal document and can be the only document required to authorize recovery of your organs and tissue. Telling your family is encouraged but not required.
