Parallel parking, hills & pulling out
A 3-minute lesson from the North Dakota course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
Parking well is part of the road test and of daily driving. You need to parallel park within a foot of the curb, turn your wheels the right way on hills, and pull out without cutting anyone off.
Know the rule
Parallel parking is one of the skills you must demonstrate to pass the road test.
You park facing uphill on a street with a curb. Turn your front wheels away from the curb. Parking facing downhill on the same street, you'd turn them toward the curb.
Check your understanding
Read the question, decide on an answer, then open it to check the explanation. These are Roadwise study questions based on the source handbook.
