A 3-minute lesson from the Missouri course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
When you're convicted of a traffic violation committed while your vehicle was moving, the Department adds points to your driving record. Collect too many in too short a time and you lose your driving privilege.
For a non-alcohol point suspension or revocation, submit proof of insurance (SR-22) and pay a $20 reinstatement fee. Intoxication-related ones require the alcohol reinstatement steps instead.
Within 14 months you're convicted of speeding (3 points), careless and imprudent driving (4) and speeding again (3): 10 points in 18 months. That's 8 or more, so your privilege is suspended, for 30 days if it's your first suspension.
