The Natchez Trace Parkway
A 3-minute lesson from the Mississippi course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
The Natchez Trace Parkway is a scenic national parkway run by the National Park Service. It has its own speed limit, bans commercial vehicles and is patrolled by park rangers. Break the law there and you'll answer to a federal court.
Know the rule
The Parkway is administered by the National Park Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior. It stretches 450 miles from Natchez, Mississippi, to near Nashville, Tennessee; Mississippi's section is 350 miles long.
You drive a delivery truck for work and want to use the Trace as a shortcut. You can't: commercial vehicles are excluded. In your own car, stay at or below 50 mph, and lower where lower speeds are posted.
