Beyond the regular Class R license, Mississippi has a Class D license for driving lighter vehicles commercially, a separate minimum age for school bus drivers, and a Motorcycle Endorsement for motorcycles.
Know the rule
A Class D license is required when you operate a vehicle commercially and the vehicle is under 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating.
You don't need a commercial license to drive a pick-up truck, whatever it's used for, unless you're transporting hazardous materials in an amount that requires a placard.
A crash helmet must be worn by anyone operating or riding any motorcycle or motor scooter on public roads or highways. It must meet minimum guidelines set by the National Highway Traffic Administration.
Your landscaping job has you drive the company pick-up truck to job sites. You don't need a commercial license for a pick-up unless you haul placarded hazardous materials. And if you needed glasses to pass the vision test, your license will be restricted to driving with them.
