Other SC laws: Selective Service, organ donation, litter & golf carts
A 3-minute lesson from the South Carolina course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
A few state laws come up when you apply for your license or use the road in everyday ways, like registering with Selective Service, choosing organ donation, keeping trash in your car and driving a golf cart.
Know the rule
Males (US citizens or immigrants) under 26 applying for a permit, license or ID must complete the Selective Service supplement, SCDMV form 447SEL.
You can register as an organ/tissue donor when you apply or renew. A red heart is added to your card, and it's a legally binding agreement under the SC Uniform Anatomical Gift Act.
Throwing trash along streets and highways is illegal. Offenders can be arrested and fined, and can be directed to pick up roadside litter under court supervision.
You're 16 and licensed, and you want to take the golf cart to a store three miles from home. The distance is fine, but the only route is a 45 mph highway, so you can't take the cart. It's limited to roads posted 35 mph or less.
