Restrictions and endorsements are meant to improve your safety, not interfere with your driving. An endorsement shows you're qualified for a certain type of vehicle, such as a motorcycle or a truck carrying hazardous materials. A restriction is a condition that affects your safety as a driver.

Know the rule

Restrictions are listed as a code on your license and explained on the back of the license.

Put it into practice

You're 17 with a "T" restriction and your shift ends at 11 p.m. You may drive yourself home because the trip is work-related. Driving to a friend's house at 11 p.m. would need a licensed driver at least 21 with you.
