Every moving violation carries a set number of points. The test loves the speed bands and the difference between a chemical-test refusal and a breath-test refusal, so learn the tiers below.

Six points:

  • Operating while intoxicated, or with any Schedule 1 drug or cocaine present
  • Failing to stop and give identification at the scene of a crash
  • Reckless driving
  • Refusal to take a chemical alcohol test
  • Fleeing or eluding a police officer
  • Failure to yield causing death/injury of emergency responder, construction or farm worker
  • Moving violation causing injury or death
