A 4-minute lesson from the Arkansas course. Read the rules and examples, follow the handbook page references, and check your understanding before you move on.
The skills test is the final step to an Arkansas license. You bring your own vehicle, show you can find its controls, and drive on real streets. Know what to bring and what can get your test refused before it starts.
Bring to the skills test:
Your original instruction permit, not photocopied or laminated
A licensed driver 21 or older, with a hard-copy license not expired, suspended or revoked
Current proof of insurance (paper or electronic card)
The permit is valid for 2 years and can't be renewed or extended for any reason, including bad weather. Finish the skills test and buy the license before it expires, or you'll retake every part of the exam.
Your permit expires next week and a storm washes out your test. The permit won't be extended for weather, so reschedule right away. If it expires first, you'll have to retake the knowledge, vision and skills tests.
Check your understanding
Read the question, decide on an answer, then open it to check the explanation. These are Roadwise study questions based on the source handbook.
